I greet all in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
In these days it seems that we prefer to satisfy or please man rather than God.
As we read in Psalm 118 verse 8, ‘It is better to trust in the Lord Than to put confidence in man.’
In today’s world we find many Christian trying to seek the approval of their pastor or church leaders. They tend to sacrifice time in ministry rather than spend more one on one time with Jesus. In Psalm 108 verse 12 we read the following: Give us help from trouble, for the help of man is useless. Looking for gratification, approval or help from peers or leaders is not the way Christ intended for us to live. Jesus said “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” (Matthew 11 verses 28 to 30).
We find that in the church would rather sacrifice what is right to please their congregation. The pastors, bishops, leaders would make their church bigger than the next as if we were in competition. It is not about who has the biggest church, brightest lights or best music. To sacrifice what God has called you to do will intern result in losing the anointing that is placed on your life.
Saul Disobeys God
We can find proof of this in 1 Samuel. Saul disobeys God’s direct command to him because he feared the people. 1 Samuel 15 verse 24 “Then Saul said to Samuel, “I have sinned, for I have transgressed the commandment of the Lord and your words, because I feared the people and obeyed their voice.” Churches tend to modernize the way they teach and present the word of God to the congregation to ensure they grasp a wider audience.
I am not again the modernization of churches as we need to keep up with the times but if preaching is all about some story being told from the pulpit rather than a Spirit filled word then there is a problem. We read further in 1 Samuel that a distressing spirit fell on Saul resulting in him having no peace and David was called to come and play the harp so Saul may find peace. When God is not with you there is no peace in your life. Do you have Jehovah Shalom in your life?
God is the solution
Let us not look to man for solutions, let us not sacrifice the anointing or calling on our life to please a pastor, church leader, friend, spouse, etc… God has blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ (Ephesians 1 verse 3. Remember that God is not a man that he should lie, when putting your trust in man there is a great chance that he will let you down. God’s word to you is Yes and Amen. His promises are eternal.
If we do not put our faith in God we cannot please God. Putting faith in man is a certainty that we will be disappointed. There is so much more scripture I can add to show you how meaningless it will be to follow man, putting your trust in your boss or president to show you the way. We read further in Jeremiah 17 verses 5 to 6 “Cursed is the man who trusts in man And makes flesh his strength, Whose heart departs from the Lord. For he shall be like a shrub in the desert, And shall not see when good comes, But shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, In a salt land which is not inhabited.
In closing
In closing I urge all my Brothers and Sisters in Christ to look to Jesus as your answer for all things. It might seem like there is no light at the end of the tunnel. Just remember this that you are the Light of this world and the darkness is afraid of the Light that is within you. Stand strong in Christ and know that you do not need the approval of man.
Thank you for reading or listening to this information, I hope that it helped you in some way or another. I give praise to my Lord Jesus Christ, I believe these words are Spirit filled and in so it brings life to all who reads it (John 6 verse 63).
God Bless you.
